Getting Around Benidorm
Do you need an auto whilst in Benidorm? That of course is a matter of personal preference and if you do decide not to; rest assure that the local infrastructure of the transportation system is excellent and you can visit other points of interest along the coast with ease.
The Llorente Bus system can take you to anywhere in Benidorm and beyond. They are inexpensive, modern and allow you to visit all of Benidorm from Ricon de Loix to Levante Beaches to Poinente/La Cala but also including Mundo Mar, Terre Mitica, Aqualandia and La Marina Mall. Bus # 10 will take you to Alfaz, Albir and Altea and runs every 15 minutes during the day.
A little known secret to visitors is that you can actually visit Gaudalest on your own during weekday mornings. Bus # 20 departs Cala Finestrat at 8:40am and the centre of Benidorm at 9:10am. Upon arrival in Guadalest, the bus affords you 2 hours for your independent sightseeing heading back to Benidorm at 12:30pm. This line only has one bus a day making stops in La Nucia and Polop, also, which can be visited on another trip with Bus # 20 during your holiday.
Costa Blanca Coastal Tram
The Tram or Ferrocarriles de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) can take you as far north as Denia and south as Alicante. Recently a limited stop tram, the L1, was added out of Benidorm towards Alicante cutting the travel time greatly. Now there’s no excuse for not visiting the Lucentum Roman Ruins, Castilla Santa Barbara or MARQ (Archaeology museum) in Alicante. The L9 tram departs from Benidorm, making all stops to Altea and Denia. If ever you should have your camera handy, as the mountains and the sea have never been more picture perfect on this route.
Want to catch the latest at the City of Arts and Science in Valencia? You can on a day trip right from Benidorm with the Alsa Express Bus. The bus can get you to Valencia in less than two hours for fewer than 30 Euros round trip in comfort. Alsa also has a local bus that travels up the coast, so if you want to visit Calpe and the famed Penon d´Ifach, it is not a problem. In fact, you can visit Alicante, Elche or Murcia with an Alsa Bus. The choices are endless and you still be back in time in Benidorm for a scrumptious dinner and a full night out.
There are numerous taxi stands abound and with so many available, you will never have a problem securing one.
Transportation is never a concern in Benidorm. You have the ability to visit the important sites and still the comforts of the world wide resort at your hand
